This role is responsible for correctly, safely and efficiently packaging and warehousing salt products for a salt manufacturing and packaging facility.
Principal accountabilities include:
Operation of packaging and related equipment.
Operation of forklifts and computerized warehouse management system.
Miscellaneous job duties that may include but are not limited to product quality testing, minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, operating bin discharge and reclaim equipment, housekeeping tasks, repalletizing/disposal of distressed product. Requirements
Be physically able to perform the job duties including bending, stooping , shoveling, sweeping, pounding with hammers, climbing stairs and ladders, opening and closing valves, lifting 20 to 80 lbs. repeatedly, extended driving/riding/maneuvering of forklifts, etc.
Be willing and able to attend job related training and attain marks which indicate satisfactory knowledge of the job requirements.
Demonstrated willingness to work extended hours/days when necessary.
Be willing and able to work a variety of shifts (including weekends and holidays)
Demonstrated positive attitude toward/interest in safety and safe work rules.
Have the ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
Assets
Sound understanding and/or experience/aptitude with packaging systems and conveying equipment.
Experience/aptitude computerized equipment (ie: scales, controllers, computer based operator interfaces, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner.
Demonstrated ability to work well in teams.
Demonstrated willingness to assume extended job responsibility and exercise good judgment in decision making.
