About this job
Position is scheduled 10:00am - 8:30pm, Monday through Friday and every other weekend.
Performs registration, pre-registration and order entry of patients to the hospital.
Assigns room numbers for patients admitted as inpatient or observation. Explains financial policies to patients.
Collects deductibles, co-insurance and non-covered charges.
Processes orders for patients through the order management function of Meditech.
Verifies Medicare and Medicaid and all insurance benefits/coverage thru appropriate electronic system.
Knowledge of insurance and claims processing.
Good organizational and problem solving skills.
Good computer skills including prior experience with Meditech 6.0.
High school diploma or GED required.
