Providence is calling a part time, day shift shift Registration Representative to Providence Saint John's Health Center Santa Monica, CA.
In this position you will:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Therapy Services, the Registration Representative is responsible for the coordination of patient visit. Responsible for scheduling outpatient visits, providing liaison functions between doctor's offices, admitting, and therapy services, and coordinating treatments between departments.
Registers patients in a pleasant, professional, and timely manner, demonstrating excellence in guest services.
Conducts patient/guarantor interviews, explains hospital policies, financial responsibilities, and patient bill of rights.
Handles all routine patient inquiries related to the registration process. Insures all necessary demographic and financial data is obtained, and accurately documented into the HIS system.
Indentifies appropriate payer source for routing of revenue generated during the patient stay.
Ensures that any pre-certification and/or authorization are obtained to meet individual payer payment authorization protocols.
Responsible for order entry on patient tracking and hospital information systems. Verifies the patient's benefits and gives them a summary sheet describing their therapy benefit to them.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
2 years' experience in a hospital, similar medical setting, or physician's office.
Previous registration experience, insurance verification experience, and/or scheduling experience required .
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
