3M is seeking a Coater Operator for the Industrial Business Group located in Conover, NC. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary :
Responsible for preparation and processing coated jumbo rolls, from threadup and operation of coating equipment to offloading jumbo and performing QA testing while maintaining a clean safe work environment.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Work safely and follow all safety rules
- Seek training in coordination with team members, trainers, and supervisors
- Monitor process run conditions
- Constantly monitor product quality, level of output
- Must know and understand quality procedures, standard operating procedures, threadups, machine setups, all machine adjustments and productivity requirements. Must know and understand the computer operating procedures for production reporting
- Maximum time to perform satisfactorily in the job is 90 days
- Must exercise good judgment in terms of product quality, productivity and safety
- Setup and adjust slitting equipment and core cutter
- Value of product handled in jumbo form is substantial. Large volume of product produced in one shift has considerable value
- Responsible to avoid damage to expensive equipment. Machine setup must be done carefully to meet all product specifications. Must be responsible for small hand tools. Durable equipment
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working a 12-hour night shift (6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.)
This position may require:
- Working on holidays as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous coating experience
Location: Conover, NC
Relocation: Is not authorized
Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
