The Columbia University Medical Center, Department of Neurology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in the Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Care and Research Program. Under the supervision of the attending MS Neurologists, the NP will be responsible for the evaluation and ongoing management of individuals with multiple sclerosis and related disease states. The NP responsibilities will include comprehensive histories and physical exams, management of neurologic symptoms, monitoring for medication tolerability and adherence, and coordinating care among the team of practitioners. The NP will also coordinate admissions and discharges of inpatients on occasion, order and interpret diagnostic tests, manage routine visits independently and more complex visits in collaboration with the attending physician, manage inquiries and patient concerns over the phone and patient communication portal, and participate in performance of clinical trials.

Experience in multiple sclerosis nursing is preferred, but not required.

Other related duties as assigned/required.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Requires Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of nursing experience, plus a current New York State NP and RN license. Must be able to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements.
