Donation Services Department Supervisor

Status : Full-time with Benefits

Must have open/flexible availability Mon-Sun

Pay : $12.00 / hr

We Pay for Performance

Pay increase to $14.00/hr

Upon solid performance review rating at the 90 day performance evaluation

Position Overview

This is a first-level management position. The Donation Services Department Supervisor will oversee the donation in-tale, customer relations and warehousing functions. Maintaining an effective team and responsible for keeping the donations and warehouse areas updated, organized and safe for employees and customers. Working with a team of retail and operations professionals to help ensure we make the best use of our resources to help achieve our mission. We prefer you are a team player professional who is willing to "roll up the sleeves!”

Responsibilities (include but not limited to) :

· Assist the Store Manager in operating and managing a Goodwill Store in order to support the mission of the organization.

· Act as Manager on Duty whenever necessary.

· Stock, pull, load/unload merchandise, help with donations, check prices and display complimentary items together, clean and straighten the store, ensuring the store’s appearance is always at its best.

· Oversee safety in all areas of the store including but not limited to: donations receiving area, break areas, side-walks, parking lot and other areas as necessary.

· Working the donation or warehousing areas as needed to assist in meeting store quotas/goals.

· Supervise the donation and warehouse associates and volunteers as assigned.

· Keep management informed of problems and suggestions. Lead and train others in Goodwill policies and procedures.

· Ensure all clerical, administrative, and operational duties and procedures are accomplished timely and accurately. Be able to perform all functions necessary to open and close the donation areas, assist Store Manager in preparing and managing the annual budget.

· Back-up Store Manager upon absence to include: ensure employees, volunteers, and helpers are performing assigned work tasks, perform various administrative duties, ensure the upkeep and repair of the store.

· Assign and oversee participation in the Goodwill Safety Committee.

· Implement procedures in safety and security; respond to all alarm and police calls.

· Provide leadership, training, and support to all subordinates in all areas. Ensure continuity of operations at all levels. Ensure open communication.

Qualifications :

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 5+ years retail sales experience

· 3+ years of experience with employee supervision, employee on-the-job training, administrative functions, customer relations, and general store operations required.

· Knowledge of administrative tasks and record keeping.

· Working knowledge of production environments and safety regulations and protocols.

· Ability to operate and assist others in operating a computer, technically savvy. Proficient with Microsoft Office.

· Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Accurate with numbers, ability to problem solve within Goodwill’s policies.

· Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

· Must be able to work varied schedules to include: weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Work any hours necessary to provide complete store coverage and supervision.

· Must have own transportation and be reachable after hours.

· Must possess ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff, peers and subordinates.

· Provide excellent customer service and have the ability to work with individuals of diverse background.

· Must have strong work ethic, be a self-starter, problem-solver, and team player.
