POSITION SUMMARY:

The position supports the plant through HR expertise and strong strategic leadership abilities. Work as a key business partner to lead managers in linking HR to the success and strength of the organization. Provide expert support in all HR functions including recruitment & selection, positive employee relations, organizational development, performance management and leadership development.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • HR processes, procedures, and coaching. Provide consulting support to counsel management on individual HR activities, performance issues, terminations, promotions, employee development, job content and job description development.
  • Develop the best possible solution to employee relation issues. Ensure sound employee relations policies are developed, communicated and implemented.
  • Coordinate plant hiring at all levels. Deploy all resources necessary to attract, develop, and retain the best and brightest. Demonstrate superior results with recruitment and retention programs.
  • Develop a method for analyzing and balancing the Human Resource needs and costs at the plant. Utilize lean techniques to eliminate waste and cost through administrative efficiencies, innovative approaches and deployment of technology.
  • Drive performance management initiatives for leadership including development of talent. Champion the consistent utilization of performance management tools and assessments to continually develop leaders.
  • Utilize well-developed organizational development skills to drive change management.
  • Manage the succession planning process for the plant. Understand the strengths, weaknesses, talent levels, skill gaps, development needs, and develop programs to close any gaps identified.
  • Work with management to improve work environment and relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Develop and drive an employee-orientated company culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Accurately interpret and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, company policies, and standard operating procedures; conduct investigations, maintain records, represent company at hearings, etc.
  • Manage and administer worker’s compensation claims and document retention.
  • Contribute to various company-wide HR projects and initiatives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years HR experience supporting a manufacturing facility.
  • HRIS database and automated resume tracking knowledge, preferably Workday and Virtual Edge.
  • SPHR / PHR certification preferred.
  • Strong Leadership abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in several functional HR fields.
  • Strong business acumen, clear ability to partner with senior business leaders.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and influencing skills.


MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISON:
  • Direct reports (May or may not have depending on site)
  • Develop direct reports.
  • Ensure company policies are followed.
  • Enforce company safety policies.
