Specifically, your role falls within the Store Systems area of IT, encompassing applications and processes that are reshaping the way store associates serve customers. You will be exposed to the latest technologies running at a large enterprise scale. You will work with business partners to understand our strategic initiatives.

 

The purpose of this position is to serve the team as a Lead Developer. This position entails being the subject matter expect for all items related to store mobile platforms software development. This product facilitates usage and development of applications targeting in store mobile devices.

 

The Lead Developer is responsible for providing in depth technical guidance and expertise. A lead developer will contribute to system architecture by driving design decisions and working with the architecture team. A lead developer will also contribute to application source code throughout product development and delivery cycles. In addition, a candidate is expected to have knowledge on software industry trends and emerging technologies.


A successful lead developer will have strong technical communication skills. He/she will mentor more junior developers, conduct code reviews, and provide input and guidance on coding standards and practices. In addition, a lead developer is expected to collaborate with matrix teams to accomplish the goals of the enterprise.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Served in senior/lead developer capacity for agile product teams consisting of 5-10 members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced highly matrixed environment
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies
  • Mobile development experience, preferably Android or platform-independent
  • Web development including HTML5 and JavaScript (jQuery, Angular)
  • Java development with focus on web development (JSP, Servlet, JMS, JDBC, J2EE Security)
  • Knowledge of standard web service development frameworks and methodologies (REST, Websockets, SSL certificates)
  • Experience with standard SQL (DB2, Oracle, SQLServer) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB) databases
  • Familiarity with cloud based application architecture
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (SeeTest, Selendroid)
  • Working knowledge of XP methodology

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

  • View software packages, products and define, prioritize, plan and implement solutions across multiple complex projects.
  • Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects.
  • Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs.
  • Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary.


NATURE AND SCOPE -

  • Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.


ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.


EDUCATION REQUIRED -

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -


Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
