JOB SUMMARY

Marriott International's Information Technology (iT) organization is seeking MBA-level summer interns to provide project planning and strategic analysis support across our iT teams and business partners. Project work can focus on issues with a domestic or global scope. Interns will work closely with Marriott's senior management team to provide business analysis and insights that inform their decision-making in various capacities. Projects typically touch numerous functional teams, offering exposure into the different dynamics and business needs within the organization.

These internship positions will be based at Marriott International's headquarters in Bethesda, MD. There will be no company provided housing or housing allowance for these positions. The internships are expected to start in May/early June and end in August, and can be flexible in terms of dates to be compatible with school calendars.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualified applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in information technology, project management, software / application development, data analyst, or business analyst roles.
  • Strong analytical skills to work with data, draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Good understanding of competitive and technological challenges facing the travel industry worldwide.
  • Good client and people skills-ability to work across multiple internal groups to help sell-in new concepts/ideas.
  • Strong written, oral communication, presentation, organizational skills and project management skills.
  • Pursuing an MBA from a top-tier program.


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES COULD INCLUDE



Managing Work and Projects in support of key Corporate Objectives -


activities are based on a broad iT perspective and may not be inclusive of overall role and responsibilities.
  • Collect and analyze data and information to develop enterprise wide functional requirements for key business partners across the iT portfolio.
  • Collaborate with various product owners or teams to prioritize requirements based on need.
  • Perform analysis and provide recommendations in support of Marriott programs.
  • Apply computer engineering methods to capture, develop, and test data and analytic components.
  • Build analytical models that aid in market analysis and decision-making.
  • Re-engineer test use cases for applications
  • Create and deliver presentations that clearly define strategic opportunities.
  • Identify and assess the value of external partners that can be enlisted to help deliver the business strategy and/or launch new products.
