The Home Depot is looking for a motivated individual who wants to be part of one of the largest, most aggressive supply chain transformation teams, a team that is responsible for ensuring The Home Depot is the Supply Chain leader in the Retail Space.

Home Depot's Transportation portfolio is complex and huge, as you can imagine demands for efficient and cost effective transportation solutions are ever growing, i.e.  deliver the merchandise at right time with the least transportation cost to the right destination.

Home Depot uses Transportation Management systems (TMS) from Manhattan associates and we have just kicked off efforts to upgrade the same to their latest platform version.  Manhattan's TMS and suite of home grown applications makes up the Home Depot's Transportation systems.

The person filling this position will be responsible for driving projects in the Transportation domain from a functional stand point. Typical responsibilities include interacting with TMS application team, including off-shore resources, other IT teams, to determine technical solutions for TMS application systems as well as working with Business team leads to validate requirements and assure user acceptance. The individual will be responsible for requirements and scope for the TMS system enhancements and participate in design, development and implementation of the solution.

The Senior Functional Configurator should have at least 3 years experience in configuring/ a TMS packages. Should have experience in configuring Manhattan TMS solution that interfaces with other supply chain and finance systems such as ordering and payables systems. Having exposure of working with Manhattan TMS packages that interfaces with mechanized distribution systems such as conveyer systems, fluid receiving and fluid loading will be a plus

Should have 2 -3 full lifecycle project experience of implementing TMS solution for Fortune 100 companies


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-

  • Experience with implementing WMS for flow through facilities and stocking DCs. Prior experience with Manhattan Associates TMS highly preferred.
  • Configuration experience with TM systems.
  • Experience with training for TM implementations.
  • Experience with writing SQL queries and basic Unix skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction.



MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

Gather detail requirements from business users for approved mid-sized projects and small enhancements to existing projects.

Perform design for approved mid-sized projects and small enhancements to existing projects.

Perform program configuration/modification and set-up activities on midsize using specific HD process techniques..

Coordinate User Acceptance testing (UAT) with the Business Client. Provide System Requirement Documents (SRD) and Systems External Specifications (SES) documents to the UAT and System test groups, to assist with testing scenarios.

Coordinate training and rollout plans for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.

Provide technical direction to associate functional configurators, functional configurators and assigned contractors.

Interface with Business Stakeholders, IT Infrastructure teams, Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within a software package.


NATURE AND SCOPE

Typically reports to Manager or Sr. Manager, Information Technology

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.


EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
