Seeking an accomplished marketing expert to partner with segment marketing, sales, consulting and business leadership to conceptualize and implement an integrated marketing engagement strategy that will enhance brand awareness, increase market engagement and drive client acquisition, retention and growth. Responsibilities will include brand, thought leadership and demand generation programs, sales enablement, oversight of events, creation of key messages and development of print and electronic content that will enhance and protect the Optum brand while engaging category targets. This role will report to the Vice President of Payer Segment Marketing and will help identify, evaluate and shape growth opportunities as part of the Strategic Marketing Team while taking the lead on messaging and thought leadership opportunities aligned with strategic clinical priorities.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Proactively develop a marketing engagement plan and mix as a contribution to the overall payer marketing engagement strategy that develops new opportunities while building client loyalty and brand equity among target customers; ultimately achieving marketing and financial objectives
Define target audience 'Personae'
Develop lead the execution of integrated marketing programs to target audience in alignment with brand, market, and solution categories. This includes embedding individual products and services into respective campaigns to support and strengthen solution themes
Create and maintain marketing asset framework and architecture and lead the development and management of content within including collateral, presentations, video's and demos
Enable sales by providing insight into buyer motivation and behaviors, identifying who within the payer market is actively engaged, sharing overall signs of buying activity, leading the development of sales assets and ensuring stakeholders are competent in using those assets
Manage expectations around marketing messaging, prioritization, budget and timelines
Participate in annual and ongoing business planning processes designed
Develop and contribute key messages and assist in the development of key customer pitches, upfront meetings and strategy sessions
Drive interactive strategies and ensure web properties are up to date with current and new content that advances brand identity and broadens awareness of category programs and priorities
Build internal relationships to facilitate cross disciplinary collaboration
Develop engaging print and electronic content
Track, measure and communicate the effectiveness of marketing an communications strategies
Effectively manage timelines, budgets and negotiate competing priorities, serving as the escalation point on project-related issues
Ensure all marketing communications are in alignment with brand and payer messaging requirements

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or Advertising
8+ years marketing experience
Experience developing and managing complex marketing campaigns
B2B Marketing experience
Experience with campaign tracking and metrics management
Proven experience with demand generation or solution marketing
Experience providing strategic guidance to stakeholders
Experience writing copy direction
Experience with all marketing mediums and disciplines from direct mail, email to intranets and social media (i.e., blogs, pod casting, etc.)
Solid and proven strategic marketing experience
Solid project management experience within a matrix organization
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, be detail-oriented and work independently as well as in groups
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple initiatives, organize and prioritize
Strong analytical and strategic skills. Must have ability to analyze historical results and understand implications for future programs
Innovative thinker capable of operating both in a hands-on/execution capacity (detail-oriented, conscientious) as well as a strategic capacity (asks 'why')
