The Quality Inn & Suites | Conference Center in Wilkes-Barre formerly the Holiday Inn was renovated and opened in 2009. Since then we've held our own against a growing market. We're a busy hotel, and a leader in the hotel market in Wilkes-Barre. We need an Executive Housekeeper that is ready to hit the ground running to help us with the day-to-day operations of the hotel. Include resume. About the Job: Job Summary: The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for all duties of the housekeeping operation and cleanliness levels in all areas of the Hotel. Responsibilities include: staff training, inter- department communications, and staff scheduling. The Executive Housekeeper will promote an atmosphere that insures the Quality Inn & Suites is a great hotel, that guests love. This position requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively work with department heads, guests, and team members. Must maintain a neat and professional appearance and manner. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Hiring and training new employees. Setting employees schedules. Responsible for assigning rooms to housekeepers to be cleaned. Responsible for inspecting rooms daily to assure that housekeepers are following the Brand Standards for cleanliness. Assign duties to other staff and give instructions regarding work methods and routines. Responsible for managing the hours accumulated in the department to the specifications of the Assistant General Manager and/or the General Manager. Responsible for cleanliness of public areas. Responsible for cleanliness of floors and using carpet shampooer or tile buffer when needed. Responsible for completing the daily laundry. Responsible for removal of trash and transport to dumpster. Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses. Deliver baby cribs, and rollaway beds to guests' rooms. Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts. Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Must monitor inventory at all times and report items that need to be reordered to the Assistant General Manager. Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to the Assistant General Manager and/or the General Manager. Responsible for maintaining a clean uniform. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Knowledge of proper sanitation. Knowledge of Choice Hotels Brand Standards. Basic cleaning skills. Basic reading and math skills. Ability to lift over 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses. Ability to push a wheeled cart full of housekeeping supplies. Ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking for the duration of your shift. Ability to understand and carry out directions. Must have your own dependable transportation. Must be able to work weekends and Holidays. Punctuality. A positive, friendly, courteous attitude toward guests and co-workers is necessary.
