In this position, you will be checking patients in, checking vitals, documenting charts, and preparing the patients to see the doctor. This can include minor wound care, drawing blood, EKG and injections. Primary Responsibilities:

Prepares patients for the health care visits by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies and equipment.
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
Dispose of all expired, damaged, or otherwise unusable medical supplies such as but not limited to laboratory tubes, syringes, insulin pencils and vials, vaccines, crash kits, spill kits, prescription samples and injectable.
Keep supplies ready by checking stock inventory; placing orders; verifying receipts
keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance; scheduling for repairs and recalibration.
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards for procedures; complying with legal regulations. 
Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient information confidential
Supports day to day office activities
Constantly assess patient flow, wait times, and schedules; takes action to resolve delays and maximize patient comfort. 
Facilitates and assures top quality communication among patients, doctors, and employees.
Maintain patient confidentiality and maximize doctor and patient satisfaction
Assist with compiling information for regulatory agency audits
Order and maintain inventory of medical office supplies
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Responsible for acting in accordance with and complying with all departmental and company policies in relation to: Compliance Program; Risk Management Program; OSHA Program; and DOH Program
Assist in special projects as needed
Perform other duties as required
Main concern of this position is patient satisfaction and efficiency
ACHA required

Requirements


Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Registered or Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Florida
CPR Certified or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment        
2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant                                                              
2+ years of Phlebotomy experience                                                                               
Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records                                               
Previous experience working within a Windows environment
Previous experience working with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Medical terminology and ICD9/CPT codes         
Bilingual English & Spanish
