Use your operational analytical skills to design/develop, program, maintain and publish reports. Make solid recommendations based on the analysis and provide explanations for reporting results for both internal operations and our customers. You must be self-directed and creative as you will deal with some very interesting and complex issues. As a key resource to others you must maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.
Healthcare Data Reporting Analyst
The Healthcare Data Reporting Analyst position will be dedicated to the Optum Idaho Medicaid behavioral health operation and will report to the local Reporting & Analytics Director. This position will have contact with local clinical staff and Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) technical staff.
Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for designing/developing, programming, maintaining and publishing operational reports
Implement, monitor and manage operational and customer report delivery
Provides operational analysis utilized for decision making. May make recommendations based on the analysis, and provide explanations for reporting results as needed
Supports internal operational purposes as well as customers
Management of report analysis and delivery including research of data source issues with local operational staff and remote technical staff
Initiative corrective action plans to resolve issues impacting report quality
Occasional business analysis responsibilities to include gathering and documenting business requirements for new or changing business functions
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree, or comparable experience
3+ years of experience performing significant data analysis and report development
3+ years of data and programming experience (SQL, Hyperion, SAS, Tableau, SQL Server and Crystal Reports)
Intermediate level of programming knowledge (reporting code) and of relational databases, database structures and design, and data warehouse
Proficient with PC based software programs (Advanced Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verbally
Self-driven, proactive problem solver/solution oriented
Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, graphs)
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Health Administration, or related field
Working knowledge of claims or equivalent healthcare claims system
Behavioral Healthcare and Medicaid systems experience
Experience documenting business requirements and/or workflows
Crystal Report skills and SQL Server experience
Experience writing stored procedures
Experience with SQL Server and Sybase
