We are currently seeking Cooks of All Experience Levels to work at our on fine dining and casual locations for the 2015 – 2016 winter season.

The Entry Cook is responsible for basic food preparation tasks, such as cutting up meat and fish, cleaning, peeling, slicing, chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients, etc. May use basic cooking skills to work on a line or in a cooking station, such as the broiler, fryer, oven, grill, or sauté station and be responsible for set up of assigned station. May be responsible for loading and unloading food product to remote meal sites for preparation.  

The Intermediate Cook functions as experienced cook, responsible for performing the full cooking process using established recipes. This includes preparing and measuring ingredients; grilling, broiling, baking, frying, and sautéing; testing for doneness and taste; adjusting seasoning and temperature for best results; and attractive food presentation. In casual facilities, fully responsible for all aspects of a cooking station. Ensures cooking station or area is sanitary and fully functional. 

The Advanced Cook Functions as very experienced cook, responsible for performing the full range of the most difficult cooking tasks. In addition to cooking complex menu items, prepares sauces and glazes to enhance flavors. Improvises on established recipes based on availability of ingredients. Suggests, develops, and tests new recipes and menu items. May assist with ordering and inventory management. Oversees food preparation and provides training and guidance to more junior staff.

  • Individuals who are passionate about guest service and the hospitality/ski industry
  • English Proficiency
  • Able to work the entire season (November 2015 – April 2016)
  • Some experience in food and beverage or guest service
  • Flexibility is a must, and typically most hours will be on weekends and holidays.

THE KIRKWOOD INN Take a step back in time at the historic Kirkwood Inn on Highway 88, just east of Kirkwood Meadows Drive.  Built in 1864 by Zachary Kirkwood, the Inn retains its original character with its rustic log cabin design. The Inn features Western cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily during the summer with a full service bar.

THE WALL BAR Located in The Lodge at Kirkwood, guests will enjoy spectacular views of Kirkwood’s famous ridgeline from Thimble Peak to Martin Point. This is fine dining in an intimate setting with dinner on Friday, Saturday, and holidays.  At Off the Wall, you’ll find southwest and pacific rim cuisine, outstanding local wines, full service bar, and delectable desserts. Dinner reservations are required.

THE CORNICE GRILL A popular Big Mountain sports bar in the heart of Kirkwood and a favorite for aprés ski. With 8 beers on tap and casual menu options for the entire family, The Cornice is the place to unwind after a day on the mountain. Watch the big game at the full-service bar or grab a window seat offering stunning views of the mountain. Located across from the Cornice Express Lift. To Go orders welcome!

THE K BAR Located on the Chair 6 side of the village, the K-Bar is an outdoor umbrella bar that will have seating for up to 75. Guests will enjoy beer and wine selections, snacks and grab and go sandwiches.  The location of the bar makes it an ideal spot to stop for a drink and take in the stunning views of Kirkwood has to offer.

MONTE WOLFES Located in the heart of the Mountain Village.  Get your morning started with coffee choices from Starbucks along with fresh  breakfast pastries and hot breakfast items.  Stop by for lunch and enjoy sandwiches, salads, soups, burgers and chicken sandwiches plus a baked potato bar. Veggie options are also available.

THE GENERAL STORE Located in Red Cliffs Lodge, The G-Store offers a full service deli complete with breakfast options, espresso, sandwiches, salads and pastas. Stock up for the weekend with needed groceries and household items or grab a few things for your day exploring Kirkwood. The General Store also carries fishing tackle and bait if you're headed to one of the nearby alpine lakes. In a Hurry? Call ahead for a sandwich to-go!

TIMBER CREEK CAFÉ (SNOWSHOE THOMPSONS): Located at Timber Creek - Start your day with fresh baked breakfast pastries and fresh brewed coffee. Refuel at lunch with a sandwich, burger, salad or quick slice of pizza. Relax at the end of the day with a drink at "The Beach."

RED CLIFFS CAFÉ:  Located at Red Cliffs lodge, there's plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and enjoy lunch indoors or outdoors.  Kick back on the Sun Deck if the weather is nice and take in the view of the Cirque and The Wall after you pick up one of their signature Philly Cheese Steaks.

OUTBACK MOUNTAIN GRILL: Located on the backside of the mountain near the base of Chair #4 (Sunrise), the Outback Mountain Grill is a quick stop for skiers who don’t want to come in off the slopes.  Guests can enjoy burgers, chicken, snacks, and a variety of beverages while relaxing on ‘the beach’ and soaking up some cool winter rays.
