1st shift production Supervisor
Assists in managing all facets of the Value Added Production shift to produce the highest quality product possible.
Responsible for managing and training all of the associates within the value added production shift.
Responsible for complying with Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and State Agricultural standards.
Responsible to drive verification points, validation and audit of existing processes.
Responsible for meeting the specifications and standards set by the Quality Assurance operations to minimize consumer complaints.
Responsible for routinely conducting hazard analysis, and for compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards to meet applicable annual plant certifications (e.G., MSDS training, lock out/tag out, fire drills, holding regular tailgate meetings, submitting timely accident reports and working on accident prevention).
Responsible for assisting in maximizing plant efficiency, customer service, (e.G., with Sales, Consumers, and on time delivery). Responsible for maintaining an adequate (not excessive) labor force to meet business needs and promote efficient interdepartmental communication.
Responsible for the effective and efficient use of resources to meet established quality, safety, and productivity standards
Direct monitoring of the processes and related activities to ensure and validate that the quality, safety, and productivity standards are met
Conduct daily walk-thru on the production floor to assure that quality, safety, and production goals are being followed. Reasonable amount of time spent on the floor for this position is between 50% 70%, depending on the issues for the shift
Provides support and leadership to Quality Line Coordinators (QLC), maximizing and developing their skills and abilities to perform their duties
Directly engaged in the daily activities within the different processes, having a good understanding of the causes of the down time, planning, and initiating action items
Effective planning for the efficient use of the available resources, to anticipate constrains, and to have a contingency plan
Participate in daily meeting providing valuable detailed information to improve the operation, sharing and communication of valuable information obtained from same meetings
Responsible for assisting in all payroll reporting and payroll check distribution, budgeting and cost control (e.G., raw product yield, material shrinkage, labor efficiency), and scheduling.
Review work schedules and make changes to better utilize resources and to reduce/eliminate overtime
Ensure cleanliness of the plant throughout the shift; including production floor, storage warehouse, battery room, water treatment area, etc
Ensure start up is smooth and strong meeting the established starting time for each of the processes
Ensure proper product flow, including the balancing of the lines to have a continuous flow of product avoiding surges or gaps
Work with the scheduler and ensure schedule is being followed to maximize efficiency
Fair, consistent, fair & ethical treatment of all employees. No discrimination or preferential treatment
Familiarity and Demonstrated experience with RPDMS, DSI, JDE, and all reconciliation responsibilities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Access.
