Dollar Tree is seeking a L2 Department Manager for our Distribution Center.
General Summary:
Monitor operating methods and procedures to ensure quality and accuracy. Assist the L1 Manager in the direction of associates and work assignments to meet daily production plans and goals.
Essential Functions:
- Allocate work assignments, monitor productivity of hourly associates based on the productivity grid and maintain and track productivity of associates.
- Work alongside the L1 manager to ensure daily goals are met.
- Ensure proper training procedures are followed.
- Communicate information to associates relative to policies and procedures.
- Ensure that associates' questions and concerns are handled in an effective and timely manner.
- Communicate associates' questions and concerns to department manager.
- Execute safety assurance techniques and maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain an high standard of housekeeping.
- Provide L1 Manager with input regarding associates' performance.
- Recommend changes and revisions to facility operations and procedures including proposals to enhance efficiency, productivity and safety topics.
- Ensure that all paperwork and daily logs are maintained.
- Ensure adequate and accurate information is provided at shift changeover.
- Performs varied duties (as listed above) depending on department assignment. Department assignment will change depending on Distribution Center needs.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college course work preferred. Previous warehouse and/or distribution center experience required. Must have an excellent attendance record. Must have the ability to learn new skills and process information. Required effective communication skills at all levels. Requires demonstrated leadership skills.
