General Manager
Whelan Security is looking for an extraordinary and motivated leader to drive service and profitable growth in Houston, TX!

The General Manager (GM) will represent Whelan as a market leader. This leader will drive earnings, manage internal and external relationships and protect our company brand. The General Manager spearheads the execution of the business through servant leadership, staff development, profitable growth and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for the overall market management.
  • Identify ways to improve management of costs, continually improve efficiencies and drive services to positively impact business results.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within the appropriate market(s).
  • Understand competitive circumstances to include their brand identity, operational characteristics, market pricing and market impact.
  • Proactively reduce risk exposure.
  • Establish and maintain accountability at all levels of the branch operations.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and work environment.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity, dignity and standards internally and externally.
  • Protect Whelan Security’s reputation by delivering high quality, reliable services which meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure proper recruitment, selection and training of management staff and hourly employees, while mentoring, coaching, and developing the first-line supervisory team assigned to the market.
  • Establish profitable relationships by maintaining clear communications and service levels with customers.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 7+ years of relevant experience in a business management or supervisory position. A college degree (Bachelors) is preferred although equivalent experience will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate a stable work history and pass an extensive background screening which includes, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (local, state, and federal), drug test, aptitude tests, skills assessments, interviews, past employment verification, and a personality profile (behavioral assessment).
