The 2016 Hotel Operations Summer Internship Program runs from June 2016 August 2016. The Operations Internship Program will include rotations through the following departments: restaurant, beverage, room service, banquet and kitchen operations.

What you will be doing

  • Provides motivated and hardworking students the opportunity to gain practical experience with the leading U.S.-based global hotel management company.  The program lasts approximately 10 weeks.
  • Take your classroom learning to the next level by supplementing it with real world work experience and training from an industry leader.
  • Over the summer you will train in different areas of the hotel to gain a complete understanding of how each department operates, and what success looks like for Interstate Hotels. You will come away with a well-rounded understanding of management responsibilities, department best practices, and overall hotel operations. 
  • Also, you will have a dedicated mentor and regular contact with hotel and corporate leadership to help and give you feedback throughout the program.

  • Participants in the Internship Program will earn a competitive wage and are eligible for travel benefits during time-off. 

Requirements

  • Must be flexible with scheduling and available to work hotel hours, which may include days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • No housing offered. Must be willing to locate your own accommodation for the duration of the internship program. Applicants must pass a pre-screen assessment, interview with an Interstate Hotels company representative and a final interview with the General Manager and Human Resources Director at the host property. 

Successful candidates will receive a job offer letter.
