Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (FTE .9, Variable) to Labor and Delivery at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
In this position you will:
Provide professional nursing care to patients in the maternity center.
Circulate, scrub, and assist with recovery for mothers and newborns.
Be accountable for the delivery and supervision of safe, quality care that is individualized for their assigned patients and follows the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act (assessment, planning implementation, evaluation).
Perform all duties in a manner that respects and supports the family centered care model.
Demonstrate advancement of professional nursing practice through continuing education, required training, certification, and participation in department and unit activities.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing
Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation)
Schedule varies to meet department needs
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and work with a variety of health unit teams
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) years Registered Nurse (RN) experience in an acute care hospital in a Labor and Delivery Unit
About the Labor and Delivery Department
Labor and Delivery is a dynamic unit that supports over 200 deliveries monthly in their 8 Labor and Delivery Rooms and 2 operating rooms. We also have a 6 bed OB Triage area and a two room Perinatal testing center where we provide both inpatient and out patient services. We are the tertiary care center for the state of Alaska and receive transports from all over the state providing our families with exceptional care close to the only Level three NICU available in Alaska.
