LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES

OFFICE OF AGRICULTURAL LAW ENFORCEMENT

This position's headquarters is in Suwannee County with a starting salary of $31,879.90 annually.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 19 years of age.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Have a high school diploma or GED.

Have a valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record.

Have not been convicted of any felony or any misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement.

Have not been dishonorably discharged from any of the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

Have good moral character.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

One (1) year of law enforcement experience (sworn or non-sworn).

Two (2) years of public contact experience or two (2) years of active and continuous military service can substitute for the required experience.

College education can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for the required sworn law enforcement experience.

Incumbent must possess active law enforcement certificate in compliance with Florida Statute 943 and be willing to serve at any duty station.

Incumbent must demonstrate proficiency with Glock .40 cal. weapon.

Applicants must successfully complete an oral review board and an evaluation to determine suitability and compatibility to perform the basic job function for consideration of employment.

Successful applicants must pass a background investigation, drug screen, and will be required to undergo a psychological evaluation.

Applicants must possess and maintain throughout employment a valid Driver License.

NOTES:

Persons selected are generally hired at the minimum starting salary identified in the advertisement and increases are granted based upon appropriations as determined by the Florida Legislature.
