Maintenance Electrician - Full-time / Part-time

Cargill Incorporated, Deicing Technology, a leader in the salt industry, has a Maintenance Electrician job opportunity at its underground Salt Mining and surface operations. Primary duties for the position will include but not be limited to the following tasks: the safe installation, maintenance, testing, evaluation, and repair at power distributions systems, motor control systems, automation systems, PLC's, variable frequency drives, and communication systems. Tasks will also include housekeeping, parts procurement and assignments as directed by a supervisor. Must be able to work on surface or underground. This position offers a competitive benefits package. The hourly rate is $19.78. All offers of employment are contingent upon the candidate successfully passing a physical which includes a drug and alcohol screen, a BATF background check and a Cargill criminal background check. Successful candidate must be able to work any shift.

Required:

Ability to work overtime on short notice

Ability to safely and effectively operate equipment

Ability to interpret and understand reports, safety/operating procedures & other policies and procedures and utilize equipment checklist

Ability to achieve a rating of at least 70% or above on the entry level electrician evaluation

Possess journeyman level knowledge and experience in installing, troubleshoot and repair of heavy industrial equipment including 480 volts, motor controllers, medium voltage switchgear, motors, starters, control circuits and PLC's

Ability in reading and writing electrical schematics and plc logic diagrams

Ability to program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers

Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces

Possess knowledge of networking and communications systems and protocols

Possess knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E

High School diploma or GED

Successful completion of accredited trade school or 5 years practical experience as an industrial electrician

Possession of journeyman certification as an electrician is a plus

Preferred:

Ability to perform lubrication, servicing and minor maintenance for equipment related to the classification

Fiber optic maintenance and repair experience
