About this job

The key responsibilities for the Mechanic I Assembly are to perform repairs and overhauls on aviation wheels and brakes per FAA and component maintenance manual (CMM) requirements. The selected candidate will be site certified in various areas in the wheel or brake shop including but not limited to assembly, disassembly, small parts, test, blast/grinding, mount/dismount, paint, and shipping/receiving.

Responsibilities:

Provide visual inspections

Ensure measurements within specifications

Process parts/pieces through certified non-destructive testing (NDT) technicians as necessary

Ensure proper tracking and documentation of activities and parts control maintained

Assist in maintaining shop compliance to various regulations

Work to improve and develop processes to reduce cycle time

Participate in and contribute to cross-functional projects

Maintain a professional problem solving attitude when dealing with interpersonal conflicts

Adherence to all quality standards and strong focus on customer satisfaction

All applicants for placement in DOT/FAA safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test, testing for Amphetamines,

Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates and Phencyclidine (PCP). The DOT/FAA regulations require all employees, regular and temporary, in safety-sensitive positions, to

be included in the Honeywell Anti-drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years direct related experience (Aircraft Wheels and Brakes repair and overhaul experience)

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Must be a US citizen due to site requirements.

Additional Qualifications:

Intermediate computer proficiency

Familiarity and/or experience with non-destructive testing desired

A&P Certification desired

Additional site-wide certifications preferred

Ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings, instructions and manuals

Ability and willingness to work occasional overtime, including weekends

Ability and willingness to lift up to 35lbs unassisted

Various shift work desired
