The Inspection and Compliance (I&C) Branch is recruiting to fill an Office Technician Typing position in our Direct Marketing (DM) Program. The office is located in the South Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento at 2800 Gateway Oaks Drive, Suite 100. Free parking is available.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Agriculture Program Supervisor I (APS I), the incumbent will perform a variety of duties for the DM Program. Program activities involve reviewing and processing producer and market certificates received by County Agricultural Commissioner (CAC) staff, and providing program support to the Direct Marketing Industry, County Agricultural Commissioner staff, and to the general public.

DUTIES:

Generate and mail Certified Farmers' Market (CFM) letters quarterly in order to remind open markets that fees for the previous quarter are due within 30 days. Print daily revenue report in order to ensure payments received through Financial Services correspond with the information entered into the database. Process and enter Certified Producer Certificates (CPCs) and CFM Market Certificates submitted and approved by the CACs by reviewing for completion and entering into an MS Excel database daily. Provide status information on documents, filings, and requests, and generate appropriate letters, copies, and/or certificates for return to Certified Producers, Markets, and Community-Supported Agriculture Programs (CSAs). Research and respond to routine customer inquiries by mail and/or telephone and refer the more difficult correspondence or issues to the supervisor. Keep supervisor apprised of any identified problems.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Incumbent must establish and maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of work, make appropriate decisions and well thought out recommendations, work well under pressure, and work independently to complete assigned work and meet required deadlines.
