Lead In Room Dining Server - The Lodge at Vail, a RockResort 

 

The Lead In Room Dining Server is responsible for lead functions within room service team. This person will provide day-to-day work direction to team members, enforce policies and procedures, train and guide staff and resolve issues and problems. Responsible for ensuring that all resort guests have the highest quality food and beverage in-room dining experience possible while assisting in the creation of a profitable department that is environmentally responsible.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Is professional and gracious while enhancing the dining experience through outstanding service skills.       
  • Complete side work such as; Stocking, polishing silver, glass and dishware, tray sweep, trash and recycling removal, expediting food, serving food and drinks, etc.
  • Consistently follows the steps of the service cycle as outlined in the brand standards and ensures the timing and flow of service is correctly paced great food and beverage knowledge with an ability to up sell to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Assist management with policies, procedures, training and day to day operations.
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise and to assist busperson with clearing and resetting tables
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervision
  • Exhibits strong menu and beverage/wine knowledge.
  • Adhere to all state health regulations and all state liquor laws.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. -required
  • Minimum of 1 year Server/Waitstaff experience in a high volume restaurant/hotel/resort. -preferred  
  • Cash handling experience. -preferred  
  • Current TIPS certification for responsible service of alcohol. - required
  • Familiarity with computers  - required
  • Previous experience using POS system - preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully in English, both written and verbal. -required  
  • 18 years of age or older - required
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move quickly throughout the dining room. -required
  • Excellent guest service skills: Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Capable of multi-tasking. -required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. -required
