Design Engineering Managers needed for direct hire opportunities with Yoh's client located in Gainesville, TX.


The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:



    - Manages the overall function of the seat design and development group. Oversees daily activities in product design. Responsible for standardization, quality of designs, manufacturability of seats and seat components, and maintaining design schedules

What You'll Be Doing:



    - Review ongoing design programs for adherence to established budgets and schedules. Allocate manpower as required to maintain on-time schedules.
    - Assists engineering design teams in effort to solve design problems.
    - Attends production status meetings.
    - Attends program management milestone review meetings.
    - Chairs or attend engineering meetings as required.
    - Leads design standardization effort.
    - Trains engineers in proper drawing and dimensioning requirements, knowledge of seat products, and manufacturing capabilities.
    - Manages employee performance by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems such as policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
    - Interfaces with airframe manufacturer, vendors and customers.
    - Performs other related duties as required.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:


Knowledge and skills:



    - Must have strong knowledge of CAD/Pro-E and/or CATIA and their relationship to mechanical drafting and design.
    - Must have a thorough technical understanding of design practices and drawing standards.
    - Must have the ability to plan and think strategically and resolve problems.
    - Must have the ability to adapt, lead, develop and mentor employees in a very dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
    - Must have the ability to communicate and deal effectively with employees including but not limited to employee performance management and employee development.
    - Must have the ability to manage and train employees, to include but not limited to organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
    - Must have effective interpersonal skills, good command of written and verbal communication skills.

Education and/or Experience:



    - Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or 6 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
    - Additionally requires a minimum of 5 years related product design, project management or related experience.
    - Leadership experience managing subordinates is preferred.
