DISH Media Sales, the advertising sales division of DISH Network, provides smart, cost-effective media solutions that complement those of traditional national cable. This role will be based in Englewood, CO at our Corporate Headquarters. 

A successful Encoding Technician will have the following:

  • The ability to work under the pressure of daily deadlines with extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with managing digital video files
  • 1-4 years of television production experience of editing or encoding in a broadcast, production house, agency or CATV environment
  • A Bachelors Degree in broadcast communications or related field and or related experience, or equivalent comination of education and experience
  • Willingness to work second shift hours estimated to be (11:30 AM-8:00 PM)
  • General knowledge of commercial insertion and traffic systems a plus

Primary responsibilities for Encoding Technician fall into the following categories:

  • Encodes short form advertising content for commercial insertion on a 200 plus channel system
  • Maintains tape library
  • Ensures quality control of encoded content adhering to industry standards of audio & video quality
  • Interfaces with sales, engineering, traffic and management
  • Monitors on-air quality of commercials as well as status of live commercial insertion system
  • Works under the constraints of daily deadlines
