About this job
Job Description
Once a publication has been printed, the bindery operator takes over. Most work is done by machine, so a bindery operator must be able to work with computer operated trimming, pressing and binding machines. These machines are all accompanied by safeguards, to ensure the operator's safety.
Bindery operators must have a keen eye for quality. If a problem occurs during printing, the operator must be able to stop production, reset the equipment, and continue the project in a timely manner. Being mechanically inclined is a plus!
Candidates will receive on-the-job training to get them up to speed!
Duties
These operators begin by setting up equipment according to project specifications. They work with other crew members to run the project and must be able to communicate effectively to coordinate efforts.
Bindery operators spend much of their day standing. They also lift weights (up to 45lbs), bend, stoop and perform repetitive tasks. The work environment is loud and a bindery operator might be required to wear ear protection. Will be required to use a hand pallet jack (pump jack).
Available Shifts
First Shift -- 6:30AM-3:00PM
Second Shift -- 2:30PM-11:00PM
Third Shift -- 10:30PM-7:00AM
Staffmark is committed to providing equal employment opportunity for all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital status, national origin, citizenship status, disability or veteran status.
