A retaiil company looking for a Staff Accountant for a Contract to hire role with a converting salary up too $55K

This position has a good mix of accounting, analysis and operations focused on our Online/Marketplace Drop Ship program, Wholesalers, and Contract Furniture ( CFS)

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the accounting and analysis for all online Drop ship and retail Kiosk activity Including sku and vendor setup, system testing and analysis, and accounting/ forecasting.

Support the rollout of new marketplace drop ship vendors, including participation in weekly and monthly meetings.

Report and analyze on 850+ existing Special Order vendors. Understand the end to end process and accounting of the drop ship online business

Work with Supervisor on the analysis, forecasting, and accounting for Wholesalers and Contract Furniture(CFS)

Understand the store kiosk ordering process and the flow of an order throughout Staples front end (order entry and fulfillment) and back end (financial) systems.

Understand the special order return-to-vendor process and how this process might cause Staples risk (by vendor). Responsible for the process of forecasting and bringing this risk to the P&L in a timely manner.

Analyze balance sheet reconciliations for all special order vendors and wholesalers to assess the adequacy of accrual account balances with cushion/risk calculations.

Analyze monthly margin drop ship results; report and inquire about unusual trends to merchandising team

Analyze daily and weekly reports to ensure the proper flagging and set up on drop ship skus for adequate financial flow to the P&L and customer satisfaction

Participate in month-end close process, including booking journal entries and forecasting.

Work closely with Merchandising, IS and Accounts Payable to resolve any issues with skus setup or payment issues on Special Order/Marketplace, Wholesalers, and CFS

Support the roll out of the Staples Exchange platform and participate in weekly meetings with the business on issues that arise

Special projects and adhoc reporting as requested

Required Knowledge/ Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
Three to five years financial analysis experience required
Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
Detail oriented, ability to multi-task
Ability to interact with all levels of management combined with excellent customer service skills
Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, and Access
Strong partnership and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and delivering results
Experience with AS400 is a plus
