Maintenance Worker - Full-time / Part-time

JOB FUNCTION:

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs on company buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems. This position responds to emergency maintenance calls, as directed, and must display a sense of urgency and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building and mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis;
• Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building and equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of schedules maintenance procedures;
• Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment;
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests, as directed;
• Inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, repairs or replaces broken parts;
• Cleans and inspects boilers;Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems;
• Replaces broken windows, repairs doors, door locks and closets;
• Repairs electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security;
• Assists with renovation/remodeling of buildings;
• Repairs plaster and drywalls, and paints building structures;
• Performs outside custodial duties;
• Obtains estimates for supplies and repair parts; orders parts as needed;
• Exudes a positive attitude and professionalism;
• Communicates with store management upon arriving and before leaving a store.
• 1 year experience with building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair;
• The individual must be able to perform all of the duties listed in the Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities in an efficient and satisfactory manner;
• Excellent at handling hand and power tools;
• Ability to read simple instructions and calculate simple measurements;
• Creative problem solving skills and excellent analytical skills;
• Works with little supervision;
• Must be able to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant walking, squatting, bending over, reaching over-and-under, climbing, lifting (5 to 100 lbs.);
• Daily work with building, mechanical equipment, and utility systems;
• Daily work with hand and power tools;
• Traveling between company locations as needed;
• Must have a flexible schedule, evening, weekend and holiday work is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Exposure to outside climate;
• Exposure to high and low temperatures, including refrigerated coolers and storage areas;
• There may be abrupt changes in temperature while moving from one environment to another;
• Exposure to wet floors, dust, and noise;
• Exposure to dismantled areas that require the use of a hard hat.
