The Regional Marketing Specialist coordinates and implements marketing communication projects with responsibilities that include public relations, special events execution, advertising, and creating brand awareness.  This position is responsible for maintaining direct, face-to-face contact with community partners, and increasing Sprouts’ exposure on the ground with regular strategic community events, activities and partnerships.  The Regional Marketing Specialist functions as a liaison between the Sprouts support office and their assigned regional locations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Effectively develop, coordinate and execute regional and local store marketing plans, including grand openings, remodels, competitive intrusion and focus store activity
  • Identifies thorough on-the-ground research (Trade Area Assessment) to identify potential partnership opportunities to promote Sprouts’ brand
  • Contacts and schedule follow up meetings with business and community partners, maintain current contacts and relationship status database
  • Ensure all marketing plans vertically integrate the national, regional and local efforts
  • Develop current programs and assist in creation of new partnership and community based programs to increase Sprouts’ visibility, brand awareness, sales and customer count
  • Oversee the successful implementation and execution of national marketing programs in all assigned stores
  • Attend regional staff and store department manager meetings, communicate marketing plans and projects to regional and store staff via in-person meetings and conference calls
  • Communicate regional and store plans to Regional Marketing team, including attending all Regional Marketing staff meetings, calls and training sessions
  • Screen incoming proposals for new regional and local store marketing opportunities
  • Monitor, review, and report on marketing activity and results
  • Provide social media content for local events and activities
  • Effectively forecast and manage annual regional budget
  • Schedule and conduct store tours
  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Management or related field with two (2) years of experience in retail/consumer marketing, sales, or event planning preferred; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Requires creative thinking, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality
  • Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Instant Messaging, Remote Connection to network, and experience performing Internet research
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, within a team, and cross-functionally
  • Excellent time management and demonstrated ability to set priorities effectively and efficiently a must
  • Strong, effective communication and interpersonal skills through email, phone, and personal interactions
  • Understanding of customer and market dynamics, needs, and requirements
  • Excellent event planning, project management, and oral and written communications skills are needed to develop marketing programs from start to finish
  • Ability to speak comfortably in front of large audiences

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to set up for demos, including moving large folding tables, carrying up to 50 pounds of equipment, and standing for up to six hours while engaging with customers
  • Ability to work at computer for several hours at a time
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly (70% of time), including out of region to support national marketing programs
  • Candidate must live in the Metro area corresponding to their regional assignment
  • Carry and use mobile devices such as tablets, laptops and smartphones
