We’re looking for a motivated experienced Analyst who will to apply their skill in a fast paced agile environment. This developer will be a part of a team responsible for designing and delivering Home Depot’s world class solution for enabling localized assortments. They’ll be a critical factor to building new applications that will enhance the Merchandising experience at Home Depot. This critical team member will be responsible for ensuring all user stories accurately capture the business requirements and deliver the capabilities as defined. During the Agile sprints, the Sr. Business Analyst will actively participate in grooming sessions and daily standups as well as work alongside the business to ensure the strategic direction, high level scope and dependencies are identified and documented. The Sr Business Analyst will also play a key role in ensuring software quality as well as deployment testing, execution, and validation.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Participate in the design processes for business functional / technical changes and identify impacts to and from supporting systems

    • Develop detail business or systems requirements / stories for approved complex projects

    • Develop detail business or systems requirements / stories for enhancements to existing large scale projects  

    • Attend and or conduct interviews and requirements gathering sessions  

    • Assist in grooming sessions to ensure sign-off by business and development teams                                               
    • Provide expert guidance and direction to other Business Analysts

    • Coordinate research and resolution of operational questions or production support issues

    • Assist with reviewing and or writing QA test cases for application development  

    • Perform and assist with QA and release testing

    • Build Excel models scenarios for testing purposes

    • Help coordinate the change request process, working with both IT partners and the business

    • Develop and maintain a complete working knowledge of business unit processes, procedures, and current applications

    • Assist with training and rollout plans for new systems, or enhancements to existing systems


    NATURE AND SCOPE

Typically reports to Manager - Service Management

No direct responsibility for supervising others.


ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
-

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS –

• 4+ years IT / Business experience including multiple years of working with complex merchandising applications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Business Analysis capacity

• Experience in analysis and documentation of requirements, business use cases, business rules, and calculations  
• Experience with Agile methodologies desired

• Experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria  

• Consulting experience a plus

• Retail experience is preferred

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred

• Experience with building positive relationships and gaining trust with business partners

• Experience with quality assurance/test planning and execution

• Must be able to adapt easily to change 

• Must be a team player 

• Working knowledge of Jira (project tracking & management system) a plus

• Working knowledge of Price planning and Price optimization is a plus

• Experience in playing a scrum master role is a plus

• Expert with Excel including the ability to write formulas, work with pivot tables, use conditional formatting, and use 'If' statements

• Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical, while working independently with minimal direction

• Ability to understand existing business processes and lead efforts to re-engineer processes

• Ability and motivation to investigate and solve issues that span multiple systems and business teams

• Ability and desire to learn new business processes & technologies

• Skilled at building positive relationships with team members and matrix teams

• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
