This position serves as counsel for the Part D Product, planning and Pharmacy clinical team.  The Part D business area is a $5 billion business, serving nearly 5 million members in standalone plans plus our Medicare Advantage members with drug coverage.  Part D is a government funded product that is the exclusive source for Drug benefits offered to Medicare beneficiaries.  This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel for Medicare and Retirement product and regulatory legal team and collaborate closely with the Part D/Group Implementation lawyer. Primary Responsibilities:

Act as key adviser to the Part D product and clinical team.
Provide sophisticated advice in many substantive areas of the law:  Part D product requirements; formulary development; Pharmaceutical & Therapeutic committee process, and marketing
Advise pharmacists as they build the drug formulary; advise on key industry issues, including High cost drugs and their formulary placement and position
Work with Part D business to develop contract terms and business negotiations with our sister segment and related party PBM, OptumRx
Advise Part D business on issues that affect the Catamaran PBM integration

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Juris Doctor   

5-8 years experience
