As an Android Mobile Application Developer, you are accountable for providing active development expertise (hands on) supporting both business and IT teams relative to mobile center of excellence (mCOE) and ICT expertise in support of strategic company initiatives. Will collaborate with UnitedHealth Group infrastructure services, application services and business partners to develop, document, implement, and monitor integrated, holistic and consistent enterprise mobile. This position offers the opportunity to join an emerging department that is working to dramatically improve the healthcare digital experience. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Continuous innovation, research and development
Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high quality software releases every week
Build mobile software that changes not just our business but the whole industry
Troubleshoot production support issues post release deployment
Handle smaller projects independently, including coordination with other teams and 3rd parties
Able to communicate clearly (both verbal and written), and provide explanation for complex concepts and interpretation of results

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 


Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of development experience with application, software or equivalent development experience
2+ years proven experience in Android development
2+ years of experience in building both Native and Hybrid Apps
2+ years of experience with APIs and Capabilities Understanding with API access, handling RESTful APIs to connect to Android’s back end services, JSON, and XML
2+ years of mobile testing frameworks experience
Experience with Android SDK, different versions of Android, and working with different screen sizes
Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
Previous experience in a technical solution architecture role designing/evaluating architecture involving three or more of the following technologies or disciplines: Relational Databases, Distributed operating systems, Java or Windows.NET applications, Cloud infrastructure, Virtualization technology (VMWare, etc.), Middleware (i.e., JBoss, Web sphere or .net applications)
Preferred Qualifications:


Previous Healthcare industry experience
Previous experience working with enterprise application architecture design patterns and how they translate into infrastructure/security deployments
Previous experience with Agile methodology
Published at least one original Android apps to the app store
Previous experience working on how to build custom UI components
Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
Previous experience reading data architecture and data model diagrams
