POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for running all aspects of the Bakery Department such as planning, administering, directing, coordinating and monitoring the operations of the department. Along with the basic duties of servicing the customer, baking, keeping the department clean to company & department standards, and prodiving exceptional customer service, the Bakery Team Leader is also responsible for many other duties. These duties consist of purchasing, inventory, hiring and terminations, training, team member reviews and evaluations, pay increases, preparing work schedules within the payroll budget, departmental safety and maintenace, controlling shrink and gross profit.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 
            EDUCATION/AGE:
 
Must be at least 18 years of age and completed school equivalent to that age. Any person between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age is required to supply working papers obtained from the school.
 
            EXPERIENCE:
 
Minimum 1 year in-store baking with management experience or 2 years minimum in-store baking experience is required. All training is given on the job as related to Best Yet Market.
 
            SKILLS:
 
Must learn and understand all aspects of retail bakery operations as they relate to Best Yet Market. Must be able to provide excellent customer service and perform that by example. Must possess good skills in dealing with customers and co-workers and be able to accept constructive criticism, direction and discipline from higher authorities.
 
 
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
 
Body Positions: Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Body Movements: Walking, turning head and torso, bending arms, wrists and fingers, squatting, kneeling, reaching over head. Must be capable of heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be capable of lifting bags of flour up to 100 lbs.
Body Senses: Must have full use of eyes and ears, full power of speech.
 
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:  
 
Language: Must be able to understand and communicate in English verbally and be able to read all necessary information pertaining to the position.

Mechanical:Must be able to work all machines within the department.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
 
Work will be done primarily in a climate controlled store and warehouse environment. Storage cases and walk in boxes are kept at appropriately cold temperatures in which you will be required to perform certain tasks. Because of the nature of products sold, the store itself is kept colder than normal.
