Job Summary To assemble, install and repair piping, fixtures and equipment used in the distribution and drainage of water and water-carried wastes, air and gas.

Responsibilities* Install, inspect and repair water mains, service lines, sewer lines, air and gas lines, valves, gauges, pumps, and fixtures, including sinks, commodes, dishwashers and disposals.

Cut pipe, using threading machine, and bend pipe by hand or with pipe-bending machine.

Assemble and install pipe and pipe fittings of bras, cast-ron, copper, lea, glass, plastic and other materials.

Join piping by means of treaded, calked, wiped soldered, brazed, fusd or cemened joints.

Cut or bore through walls, ceilings or partitions.

Test piping systems for leaks, using gauges.

Secure pipes to structures with clamps, brackets and hangers.

Unplug clogged drains, pipes and fixtures.

Read and intepret blueprint, diagrams, sketches and job specifictions.

Install, repair and maintain fire protection systems.

Prepare records and service reports of materials and time expended.

Required Qualifications* Graduation from high school.

Considerable knowledge of the mehods, equipment, and materials used in the installation and repair of water distributo systems and fixtures.

Reasonable experience in the installation and repair of water distribution systems and fixtures.

Considerabe skill in the operation of plumbing tools and power equipment.

Ability to exercise tact and discretion in relationships with others.

Reasonable knowledge of plumbing codes.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Reasonable manual strength and dexterity.

Ability to observe safety precautions in the operation of tools and power equipment.

Reasonable knowledge of the maintenance requirements of water lines, fixtures and controls.

Desired Qualifications* Troubleshoot, test, connect, and disconnect electrical service to pumps, dishwashers, heaters, disposals and other devices from the service disconnect up to and including the electrical load switch using LOTO protocols.

Install, test, calibrate, and replace controls and control modules including (but not limited to) pressue switches and other electrical control components located within equipment control panels of the load side of service disconects.

Current journeyman plumber's license and ASSE 6010 backflow certification (maintained duraion of classification employment). As applicable, ASSE 6040 medical gas certifcation (succssful obtainment within 90 days of start for patient care areas).

Physical ability to perform the full range of duties of the classification including, walking, climbing, bending,stooping, twisting, reaching,pushing, pulling, crawling under and over obstacles, and being ae to carry loads up to 94 lbs. Work may be performed in confined spaces and areas subject to high heat.

Working knowledge of underground water mains, drain pipes, and associated valves, pits, separators, and structures.

Working knowledge of steam, hydronic, chemical treatment, and other process piping systems.

Reasonable computer-use abiity including data entry, on-line research, use of the internet, email, and document manipulation.

Reasonable knowledge of a Computerized Maintenace Management System (CMMS).

Knowledge of Google products, Smart Phone technology, tablet technology,and computers.
