Providence is calling a full time, night shift, Registered Nurse to the Emergency Department at the Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.

*** This position is bonus eligible ***

We are seeking a Registered Nurse that is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and providing high quality care in the Emergency Department. Located on the 1st floor of the hospital, the ED is a 15 bed unit providing services for patients of all ages, is approved for EDAP and is a STEMI program provider.

In this position you will:

Implement and maintain established department, unit, administrative, and clinical policies/procedures for patient care, safety, and infection control.

Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment with attention to each patient's physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs.

Collaborate and communicate with other personnel to maintain good employee relations, meet interdepartmental objectives, and optimize patient care.

Provide direction to team members to coordinate care of assigned patients and problem-solve patient care issues during the shift.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Current State of California Registered Nurse (RN) License.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.

National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS Stroke) Certification within 90 days of hire or transfer

Completion of Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) equivalent within 90 days of employment.

Completion of an approved 2 day Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) course within 90 days of employment.

Completion of a course in Electrocardiogram (EKG) recognition and its clinical implications and or passage of EKG test at 80%.

Completion of a critical care course and /or completion of an Emergency nursing course within 90 days of employment.

LA City Fire Card within 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Bachelors in Nursing (BSN)

National Certification for Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse, Critical Care Registered Nurse or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (CEN, CPEN, CCRN, MICN).

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) provider, STABLE Course Completion/Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification

3 yrs experience in Emergency or Critical Care setting

Demonstrates competency in clinical knowledge, skills required and technology utilized in the Pediatric setting within the scope of RN practice.

Entry level accepted when training program available.
