The Supply Operations Clackamas Milk Plant, located in Clackamas, OR, has an immediate opening for a Plant Manager . KEY RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO; Responsible for the coordination of various manufacturing functions within a single facility. Take ownership of plant and accept responsibility for all aspects of the operation. Financial and budget management. Accountable for P & L of the plant, identify, and implement efficiency and cost cutting measures that will improve ROI. Set and monitor plant performance targets both short and long term. Proven ability to hold all employees accountable. Drive continuous improvement in the areas of profit, ROI, process improvements. Utilize new technology and processes available to maximize efficiency. Manage employee relations by dealing with grievances, corporate, LR, plant employees, and other business agents. Aggressively cultivate and promote a positive and innovative work environment. Maintain a high level of customer service to both Safeway and public customers. Continued development of World-class concepts, including Lean Manufacturing. Ensure Safeway policies, procedures and practices are strictly adhered to, including appropriate audit, controls and segregation of duties are in place to support Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with Safeway, Federal and State guidelines. Identify new market opportunities both inside Safeway and outside of Safeway, while expanding current business. Thorough understanding of GMPs and regulations pertaining to product safety and quality strongly preferred. Hiring and development of plant staff. Ensure timely completion of plant goals/action plans, both short and long term. Benchmark facility's costs and pricing to ensure competitive levels are maintained. Provide superior customer service to both inside and outside customers. Partnership in the negotiation of labor contracts. Participate in appropriate industry associations. Interface with Regulator Agencies. Capital Project Development, cost estimation and management. QUALIFICATIONS: 4-year college degree in Food Science, Engineering, and/or Business Management preferred. 7+ years' supervision experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a Dairy facility preferred. Ability to empower the workforce and build strong teams through hiring, developing, evaluating, training, coaching and succession planning. Strong communication skills and ability to build direct relationships with hourly associates while managing multiple union contracts. Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse workforce strongly preferred. Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility. Experience in TQM, process improvements and process mapping and reviews preferred. Experience in holding employees accountable for working safely, and providing a safe work environment. Proven ability to define performance measures directly related to business and hold people accountable for such. Proven ability to do financial analysis and review and analyze existing cost data. Proven experience in developing and managing annual operating plans (P&L) Excellent customer service focus, results oriented. Computer skills, including Excel, MS Word, and Adage. Must possess the following traits: proactive, risk taker, change agent and strong sense of courage. Must be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback.
