  • Sales associates spend a considerable amount of time standing and walking throughout their workday.

  • Sales associates must have the ability to adhere to company policies and procedures and interact with customers based upon their employers’ expectations.

  • They also must maintain a presentable and well-dressed appearance in addition to being honest with each customer.



Essential Responsibilities:




  • Work closely with the store manager in determining important goals and tasks for the store, themselves, and the sales associates and how they can be achieved.

  • Assign duties to sales associates to keep them task oriented while also emphasizing customer service. This includes determining the best person for each job by considering experience, knowledge, and skill. The assistant manager is successful when he/she keeps the associates working. Only when that has been achieved should he/she complete his/her tasks.

  • Open and close the store when scheduled or whenever necessary due to special circumstances.

  • Serve as a positive representative of Teacher Heaven by displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with co-workers and customers.

  • Conducting inventories and locating shortages.

  • Assume full responsibility to manage the store effectively in the absence of the manager.

  • Assist in training new associates

  • Participate in usual duties of sales associates however; the primary duties listed above always take precedence. Duties of sales associates include (but are not confined to) assisting customers, completing sales on the register, cleaning, restocking, pricing, checking in merchandise, completing tasks as assigned by the manager.

  • Fulfill further duties as assigned by the store manager and/or upper management.



Knowledge and Skill Requirements:




  • Supervisory skills to appropriately assign tasks

  • Exhibit appropriate interpersonal relation skills in order to work effectively with co-workers and customers

  • Ability to adapt to developing circumstances as this is an ever-changing workplace. This includes working additional hours to supply proper employee coverage in the event of sicknesses, shows, inventories, busy times, or other conditions. This also includes adapting to changes in assigned tasks to adjust to other developments.

  • Continue development of their knowledge of products, policies, and procedures of our company
