We are looking to reinforce our team with people who are decisive, brilliant and built for speed -- people like you.  As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be predominantly involved in gathering requirements, working with developers to translate them into designs, leading testing efforts, ensuring systems are working as designed and managing product stakeholder populations for Payment Integrity based applications used by Optum to serve its customers. This role requires an individual who can work with both the business and developers and can work on new products/features as well as supporting existing applications.    We need self-starter who can work in a virtual environment and likes to have fun while performing at a high level for our customers.   To be located in:Eden Prairie, MN; Wauwatosa, WI; Franklin, TN; Frederick, MD Primary Responsibilities: 

Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project
Think strategically, and creatively, about how the consumer experience should work - translating a vision to processes and requirements
Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment
Improve processes to optimize performance and value over time
Maintain awareness of current technology assets, and the applicability and capability of each
Maintain awareness of current business and industry issues / trends and incorporate into product designs as appropriate
Develop recommended business solutions through research and analysis of data and business process and implement when appropriate
Gather, Analyze and Define Business Requirements.Document and Communicate Business Requirements
Evaluate business requirements and prepare the detailed functional and technical specifications that follow project guidelines
Participate in / Support the Solutioning Process
Communicate design to all stakeholders and varying levels of the organization
Act as the liaison between Business and Systems Analysts, Developers and project management groups
Ensure IT deliverables align with business requirements with measurable results
Assist business users in defining User Acceptance Testing, test cases and plans
Ensure that quality processes are carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
Participate in production implementation verification and being accountable for validating system quality
Manage Defects
Participate in / Support the Testing and Validation of Identified Solutions

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of documenting business requirements and translating them into detailed system specifications
5+ years of experience in Systems Analysis including developing new and supporting existing
5+ years of IT Quality Assurance / Testing experience
4+ years of relational database experience (SQL Server, Netezza, Oracle)
4+ years of experience with SQL
4+ years of web design experience (SharePoint, ASP.net)
Proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Degree
Healthcare experience
Proficiency with Agile development and Rally
Experience facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions
Quality Assurance Team experience
Experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes
