Overview:

Responsible for protecting company assets (associates, customers, merchandise, cash and property) from safety risks, loss and shrinkage in assigned group of stores. Protection of assets defined by creating a visible deterrent to loss and safety threatening situations, supporting Store Mgmt. when dealing with conflicts, and (when fully trained and certified) apprehending shoplifters according to all TCP policies and protocol.

Responsibilities:

Support Store Management in dealing with any instance of aggressive or hostile behavior displayed within their assigned stores, maintaining all TCP standards in such dealings. Use of verbal and nonverbal skill set to create a safe and secure work environment. Subsequent to full training and certification, conduct external investigations with regards to customer theft/fraud. Responsibility to follow all TCP policies and protocol in regards to dealing with individuals suspected of theft/fraud/policy violations. Review in conjunction with LPM Regional / DM and Store based Teams specific, and assigned, areas of Target Store Program and provide additional support in the form of training and consultation on the Shrink Action Plan. Review of external programs such as EAS, CCTV's and safety related programs. Communicate areas of opportunity to the LPM Regional and Director of LP. Liaison with local/municipal, state/provincial, federal law enforcement agencies and government agencies on criminal cases and/or governmental compliance issues. Participate in district/regional visits to increase collaboration and improve awareness of loss and operational compliance. Provide and participate in store/district/regional LP Awareness and safety training. Participate in annual inventory process. 10. Monitor and respond to any safety concerns in their assigned store.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimal, potentially with a Vendor Guard on site.

Qualifications:

Must possess ability to react to stressful and dynamic situations in a professional and calm manner. Ability to work in a team environment. Serves as a role model. Strong self discipline and focus required. Must be very thorough and detail oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Microsoft Office competency preferred. Knowledge of various local/municipal, state/provincial and federal prosecution procedures. Experience with CCTV, EAS, burglar and fire alarm systems preferred. Represents the company in a professional and positive manner.

1 - 3 years of retail Loss Prevention or commiserate experience preferred. Security Certification / licensing appropriate to locale. Must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to maneuver around sales floor and stockroom, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
