Job Summary: Loss Prevention/Security is responsible for protecting H-E-B-s assets by preventing theft.
Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary
- Detects and resolves external theft by identifying, investigating and resolving theft incidents.
- Conducts surveillances, detains and interviews persons apprehended in shoplifting incidents.
- Recover assets and / or make safe apprehensions
- Responsible for writing and documenting the case reports for theft incidents and weekly activity reports.
- Educates store Partners and management on Loss Prevention related matters to improve theft awareness and maintain a safe store environment.
- Conducts inspections of physical security standards.
- Learns advanced interviewing techniques
Education and Experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 - 2 years experience in investigative auditing and / or retail Loss Prevention preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as computer software programs / applications required by the job
- General knowledge of video systems
Key Competencies preferred
- Able to multi-task with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual language skills a plus
- Able to work with highly confidential information
- Able to confront individuals in a calm and diplomatic manner
- Able to work in a team environment
- Moderate PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook - as well as computer software programs / applications required by the job
- Working knowledge and experience in investigative techniques including good interviewing skills
Physical and Other Requirements
- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment
- Travel by car or airplane with overnight stays
- Lift up to 20 lbs in a regular basis
- Work extended hours
- Work rotating schedules
- Must have reliable source of transportation
- Able to access and move around all areas of the store quickly
- Able to make theft apprehensions
- Able to conduct visual surveillance of the store
