Built in 1988, Heritage Oaks Hospital has long been highly regarded as an integral part of the greater Sacramento and northern California mental health system. Conveniently located in the northern part of Sacramento, Heritage Oaks is a fully accredited 125-bed acute psychiatric facility offering a full range of individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults and senior adults. Heritage Oaks provides confidential no-cost assessments as a community service. The hospital is a Medicare provider, and has contracts with most commercial health insurance plans, Medi-Cal and Medicare HMOs.

Heritage Oaks currently has an opening for an Intake Clinician. As an active member of the Psychiatric Assessment team, the Clinician performs psychiatric assessments for incoming new patients, and provides psychiatric assessment services as requested for continuing patients.

This is a per diem position. You will be scheduled to work evening shift, and every other weekend.

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited program in nursing, social work, mental health or related field preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting preferred, with direct experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.

Licensure: R.N., L.C.S.W., LVN/LPT, or applicable licensure or Master's level and license eligible.
