Loss Prevention Supervisor - Full-Time, Year-Round - The Arrabelle, a Rock Resort - Vail, CO

 

The Arrabelle at Vail Square combines the timeless elegance and old-world village charm of Europe’s grand resorts with the romance and alluring style of Vail’s world-renowned alpine heritage. The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for Safety and Security of the Arrabelle Resort, Colleagues, Guests and Owners, as well as property assets.

 

Essential Job Functions Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Detects potential sources of security and safety hazards, responds to emergencies, handles complaints, investigates and compiles reports in a professional and hospitable manner.
  • Provides oversight and direction to Loss Prevention department as aligned with LP Manager and hotel executive leadership.
  • Take lead on resolving difficult guest situations in a professional and hospitable manner.
  • Train/coach new and existing department employees on job fundamentals and enact documentation process as necessary.
  • Assist in managing 24/7 department schedule; resolve schedule conflicts, create staffing solutions, assist with time & labor submission, cover open shifts as needed.
  • Attend daily management operation meetings and provide prompt communication follow up with all hotel leadership regarding outstanding business action items.
  • Manage the daily/monthly/seasonal LP team task lists and ensure proper follow up on any unresolved issues for effective results.
  • Assist with resolution of any fire/life safety issues, including problem solving the fire panel.
  • Anticipate safety/security concerns and work with hotel leaders to create proactive solutions.
  • Strong involvement in leading the hotel Safety Committee program as co-chairman role.
  • Identify and take lead on specific safety projects, including creating safety training materials.
  • Drive security/LP projects at the Arrabelle for continuous improvement (i.e. Fall/Spring projects, security camera installation/upgrades, improve efficiency of tasks etc).
  • Assist in managing department budget; forecast material inventory needs, make purchases through procurement system, analyze profit & loss statements, attend finance meetings.
  • Liaison with contractors/vendors to accomplish projects taking place in Arrabelle building.
  • Must be available for after-hours emergency on-call.
  • Will be required to take Vail Resorts Supervisor Leadership Development training.
  • Must be able to complete and be proficient performing all Loss Prevention Officer job tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, Tech or Trade School. -required
  • Basic computer skills. -required 
  • CPR / First Aid / AED certifications. -required
  • EMT certification. -preferred  
  • Previous law enforcement, security, EMS and/or fire experience. -preferred
  • Previous experience in security or loss prevention. -preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. -required  
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully in English, both written and verbal. -required  
  • Conversational Spanish or other languages helpful. -preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. -required 
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time. -required
  • Must have a vaild Colorado Drivers License. -required
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, afternoons, evenings and overnight shifts. -required
