Providence is calling for an Unit Secretary - Healthcare Assistant (HCA) (Day Surgery, Variable Shift, 0.25FTE, 10 hours per week) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all -- especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Support nursing personnel in providing nursing care to patients and assists with providing a safe, quiet, clean, organized environment for nursing care delivery.
Transport medications to the registered nurses or licensed practical nurses from the pharmacy tube system.
Provide point of service laboratory work or EKG.
Perform assigned tasks and activities that include the clerical functions such as transcription of orders, computer data entry, maintenance of patient activities for the records, telephone answering and unit reception.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Basic Life Saving
(BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Successful completion of an orientation program or equivalent experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Current Montana Certified Nursing Assistant certification or Current MT-EMT B
