CHEESEBOY IS HIRING A CATERING MANAGER FOR OUR NEW & EXCITING METRO BOSTON CATERING PROGRAM

We are looking for a dynamic and professional catering manager to oversee our new catering program out of our Downtown Crossing location.  At Cheeseboy, we pride ourselves in adopting a "grow from within" team building philosophy, but we need to start with the right people. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver the highest quality Customer experience at all times
  • Identify and contact potential new catering customers through in-person sales calls and cold-calling
  • Develop local marketing efforts to drive sales for our new catering program by identifying catering opportunities, initiating sampling programs, overseeing coupon distribution, and executing other local marketing activities to increase awareness and sales of our catering program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new & existing catering customers
  • Assist in the hiring, training and scheduling of catering team members. Be actively involved in the development of catering team members, especially as it relates to service techniques, menu presentation, and policies & procedures
  • Ensure successful operations of catering functions including labor cost management, food cost control and preparation, transportation, and set up of all functions.​


REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY

  • At least 1-2 years of Catering Sales and Management experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and obvious comfort interacting positively with customers
  • Ability to maintain and easily communicate solid knowledge of all products and services available in the program to make suggestions and to meet customers’ needs
  • ​Capability of orchestrating the overall planning and growth of catering operations.
  • Ability to schedule and manage the production of all catering orders in a smooth, calm, and efficient manner at all times
  • ​Knowledge of how to hire, train and treat team members with respect and kindness while leading through example and confidence. Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage processes to ensure catering orders are accurately recorded, executed/prepared efficiently, and delivered on time.
  • This is primarily a Monday through Friday position, but the flexibility to work weekends is required

  • Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed at all times, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products
  • Helps clean and stock work area and customer areas as needed
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart, when needed
  • Moves and lifts food and beverage products and supplies (all positions require the ability to lift/push objects weighing over 40 lbs)
  • Assists with a variety of kitchen-related functions as needed (soup preparation, slicing cheese, cutting vegetables, cooking meats, sandwich prep)
  • Regularly cleans and sanitizes work station and equipment
  • Can easily bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Speaks, reads and comprehends instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests in English.
