Mail Clerk

Job Description:

Sorting mail from numerous sources, both internal and external

Pack & wrap classified material

Metering postage

Route mail for internal and worldwide distribution

Operate a computer; learn the COMDIS tracking software program to dispatch, in-check, and track, controlled material

Learn the FedEx PowerShip Dispatch/Tracking system to provide critical Express/Overnight service to support time-sensitive mission requirements

Learn the Agency Suite Number system to support our 17 internal mail centers

Follow written and oral instructions and have interpersonal skills to communicate with co-workers and customers

Load and unload commercial/government trucks of incoming/outbound material, to include signing and accounting for material received

Perform tasks required to support the mail process (i.e., x-raying and biochemical inspection)

Delivering mail to various government and non-government entities in the Baltimore, Washington and Virginia area

On occasion, it may be required for the Mail Clerk to perform courier duties, both CONUS and OCONUS travel maybe required

On occasion, it may be required for the Mail Clerk to drive a Government vehicle (requires Class C License). They shall be required to read and sign a statement of understanding for the rules and regulations regarding the use of government vehicles

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Personnel shall be required to have knowledge and experience in operating an electric and manual pallet jack. Every individual shall be physically able to perform the assigned work under this contract, and will at all times, work under the supervision of an Agency Alternate COR.
