Providence is calling a full time, night shift Certified Nursing Assistant to Providence Little Company of Mary Transitional Care Center in Torrance CA.
In this position you will:
Perform delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and work under the direct supervision of a Charge Nurse. These duties may include, but are not limited to phlebotomy, EKG's, vital signs, monitoring, basic patient care and transportation.
Respond appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age specific needs based on scope of service of unit/department where assigned (Young Adult through Geriatric).
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California Certified Nursing Assistant certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association
Must be able to perform the physical requirements for this position as defined in the RU-91 form.
Certification of Nursing Assistant from a state approved program.
At least 6 months experience in a skilled nursing facility, medical/surgical and/or working with chronically ill patients.
Fluent ability to understand oral and write accurately and legibly.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
Ability to accurately and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Must demonstrate an understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations.
Ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative (service-oriented) working relationship with patients, families and co-workers.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
At least 6 months experience in an acute, sub acute or transitional care setting
High school graduation or GED.
