About this job
A non-licensed Patient Sitter works under the supervision and guidance of a staff nurse to provide observation of patients as a "sitter" only. Assists with helping a nursing employee when entering a patient's room. Exercises all duties consistent with the needs of all patients/customers. Observes a patient or close observation of several patients. Respects all aspects of confidentiality with behavioral health patients. Observes room for safe environment for patient(s), visitors and staff members. Observes patient for any behavior that could indicate potential problems for patient or staff and alerts nursing staff immediately.
Patient sitters will be utilzed at any of the NW Health System campuses. Applicants should be willing to float as needed.
Ideal candidate will be experienced as a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant as assiting patients with basic Activities of Daily living and tolieting will be required.
High School Graduate or GED. Completion of Patient Sitter training. and a current AHA Basic Life Support Certification card.
