Department Overview:

Affiliate Sales & Marketing - The Affiliate Sales and Marketing Department is responsible for negotiating distribution deals and keep strong relationships with our Affiliate partner's c. They drive distribution of the Walt Disney Company's domestic cable and satellite networks and new media content -- including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD ESPNU, Fusion and the SEC Network in addition to the distribution of related HDTV, broadband, wireless, video-on-demand, interactive television, pay-per-view, and sports syndication products. The ASM department is split up into two teams: The Brand team and the Strategy team. The Brand team handles the communication needed for our networks, sports and products, along with bringing a sense of value to our affiliates. The Strategy team is assigned to different providers and works with sales/strategists to figure out a yearly plan of action for given accounts. Customer Marketing and Sales - CM&S division connects client's brands with our fans through multimedia platforms that drive results. The three core departments are Advertising Sales (revenue generation), Sports Management (league relations and asset ideation & integration) and Asset Management (pricing & inventory management). The platforms offered include opportunities on ESPN's seven domestic networks, ESPN.com, ESPN360.com, ESPN The Magazine, ESPN Audio, ESPN International, and ESPN Mobile.

* Fundamental understanding of the various ABC, Disney and ESPN services provided to customers

* Sports knowledge

* Related business experience, media network or ad agency experience

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Currently enrolled in college as a junior or senior. Interns may learn each step of the distribution and new product development process, including ideation, account strategy planning and execution. Duties may include assistance in market analysis, sales strategy, industry research and deal implementation. Finally, interns will also aide in overall coordination for the group and other ad hoc projects.
